Author, speaker, organizer, and playwright, Michael Gardner, leads an interactive workshop involving participant role play, as well as Q&A covering both the interactive and written information about stage plays and their impact on individuals, campuses, and communities. Actors are brought in to speak with students about roles and Gardner aids them in the art of writing. Gardner also utilizes his new stage play: A Summers Run as the play to practice since it deals with school retention, articulation to college, race relations, and conflict resolution. This workshop discusses top books on the subject, mentorship, networks, and provides updated hand outs on training. Writers are brought in to speak with students about different types of books such as novels versus short novels, thrillers, children’s books, etc. Gardner aids them in learning the process and art of writing. Gardner also utilizes his new Novel: American In a Sense, Children’s Book: Mask or Aid, or his published stage play: A Summers Run as the example to practice since they deal with school retention, articulation to college, race relations, historical data collection, and conflict resolution.
