Michael Gardner is an activist for humanity through writing novels and stage plays.
Author, motivational speaker, and organizer, Michael Gardner was born 1976 where he was raised in the notorious Cabrini Green and Henry Horner Housing projects of Chicago. From the age of fourteen years old Michael Gardner has been trained through youth leadership development programs, employment, and eventually college where he earned an A.A. in Secondary Education, a B.A. in Liberal Studies concentrating on Institutional Leadership, and is currently a M.A. in Educational Leadership candidate with some background in Criminal Justice. With over 15 years of outreach work in high crime and impoverished Chicago neighborhoods, Michael Gardner has taken the energy of the many leaders that have advised him and has become a conduit of leadership development ideals to Chicago area communities through motivational speeches in many educational institutions as well as in the streets of Chicago.

Michael Gardner is now the author of a crime thriller based on the true story of a murder that he witnessed and survived during his youth entitled American in a Sense: City in a Garden. This work tells the story of teen murders in Chicago during the high number of deaths that consume the lives of hundreds of Chicagoans. Through his written works, Gardner presents knowledge and grassroots programs on possible strategies different from the ones that are in use today that may help with slowing down the violence in America’s Cities.
Currently, Michael Gardner runs a small media company, has written three novels, a stage play, as well as is consulting against violence wherever allowed. Michael is also involved with such programs and workshops that aid teens and young adults with knowledge of self, life skills, and finances. Other projects that Michael Gardner is involved in are a stage play called A Summers Run, which is about America’s dramatic struggle to integrate its universities during the rise of the Klan. Gardner is releasing a children’s book called Mask or Aid which deals with diversity and bullying, and was written by his eight year old twin boy and girl. The final work created by Gardner is entitled the Beat King (a hip-hop super hero similar Marvel’s Iron Man), whose main character is a hip-hop producer that was slain and brought back to life to save America from violence and corruption through the power of sound waves.
